What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is an evidenced based practice utilizing researched and clinically proven interventions to accomplish individualized goals practiced by a board certified music therapist. Our first university program began in 1944 when hospital doctors recommended that musicians needed training before using their music with patients to help with their treatment.
Today, music therapists work in a wide variety of settings, conduct assessments, write goals and objectives using music interventions to change behavioral, psychological, physiological and social responses of clients.
Sample Goals: To increase social interaction, improve range of motion, decrease anxieties or agitation, alleviate pain, express emotions, improve attention and communication.

Daisie Sutton
Hello! I created Sutton Music Therapy, LLC in November of 2018 to provide services to my surrounding communities. I am currently servicing clients in Southwestern Washington and Oregon. I have my masters degree from Colorado State University and National Board Certification.
​
I have a background in working within forensics and psychiatric hospitals, assisted living, memory cares, detox/substance abuse, adults and children with various disabilities.

Location of Services: I come to you! Services are provided in client's or group residence, day program, school or facility setting. Online services may be available too upon request.

*All instruments and materials are santized after each session and upon request-face masks are worn by the therapist to promote COVID-19 Safe Practices. Face masks are not required for participants unless requested by facility and/or individual participants.

Daisie Sutton has over 1,000 songs memorized from various genres of music ranging from pop, du wop, classic hits, alternative, jazz, blues, regaee, country, rock in roll, folk, hip hop, heavy metal, gospel, World Music from the 1920's to modern hits!
Tablet is accessable to search any songs requested by a client individual and/or group to utilize un memorized music per request. Client perfered songs are utilized in the sessions and music that is not known is learned for each client to use in future sessions.
